Week 4 (Dec. 2nd & 3rd)

Boca Jr's. 4 Fiorentina 2
La Bombonera, ARG
This weekend Fiorentina traveled south of the border and beat a very good Boca Junior team 4-2. Daniel McDonald opened the scoring for FFC late in the first half with an assist from Dakota Hendrickson. A new addition to the team this season Hendrickson came alive in the second half finding the back of the net twice. The first goal was assisted by Patrick Higginson and the second was a model of passing as both Higginson and Ben Janecek were credited with assists. The final goal of the game came from Ryan Miller on a wonderful solo effort. Boca Junior was able to get on the board in the second half after missing a penalty kick but scored immediately following up on the rebound. In a post game interview team manager Ron Carson said "I was so impressed with my teams play today. Carlos Salcedo was a 'Super Man' in the goal and Ben Janecek may have played the best game I have ever seen out of him. Jacobbie Mengel and Pat Linafelter played some very spirited defense in this game. We have some young players that really came alive today." Fiorentina looks to keep the momentum rolling as they travel to Germany to face a very strong Bayern Munchen squad.
Fiorentina Goals: McDonald 1, Hendrickson 2, Miller 1
Fiorentina Assists: Higginson 2, Janecek 1, Hendrickson 1

Werder Bremen 4 Tottenham spurs 14
Weserstadion, Germany
The Spurs came to play today as they scored in the first minute of the game. But the highly skilled Bremen men took one back 2 minutes later with a beautiful backdoor run and finish. Totenham regrouped and finished the half with a 7-3 lead. With goalie Alex Durbin out on loan, Luke Jatczak played well in goal the first half and came out on the field to score 2 goals in the second. John Lee had 4 goals to lead all scorers. Hunter Gorby had 3, and Ryan Lynch had 1 goal and 3 assists. Second half goalie, Conner Jackson held the Bremen men to only one goal and distributed the ball quickly to lead many of the counter attacks from the back. Other Spurs with goals were Jason Hiemer, Charlie Landon, and Sam Rath. Spurs take on coach Potter's Everton team next week.
