Week 5 (Dec. 9th & 10th)

Bayern Munchen 6 Fiorentina 2
Allianz Arena, Germany
Fiorentina was never able to get going in very physical game that saw them lose 6-2 to Bayern Munchen. Fiorentina manager Ron Carson said "The physical nature of the game got the best of us today. We played timid and got rolled over. We had chances today we just couldn't finish them." Logan Gier opened the scoring for Fiorentina on a solo effort and Patrick Higginson who has been plagued by the post, finally found the back of the net after hitting the post 5 times in the last two games. He was assisted on a run out of the defense by Jacobbie Mengel. Fiorentina has faced some trouble on the road this season. This is a scary thought considering they will be on the road for 2 of their next three games. Fiorentina will travel to America this week as they continue their road campaign in Los Angelas against the Galaxy.
Fiorentina Goals: Logan Gier 1, Patrick Higginson 1
Fiorentina Assists: Jacobbie Mengel 1

Tottenham spurs
11 Everton 5
White Hart Lane, UK
Spur's fans were treated to a scoring display by the famous striker, Hunter Gorby. Mr Gorby had a DOUBLE HAT TRICK in the Spurs win Saturday at home. Cameron Kellner was right behind with a hat trick of his only along with an assist to Charlie Landon on one of his 2 goals. Alex Durbin played a good first half in goal only allowing 1 Everton goal on a great breakaway goal. Alex came out in the second half and had 4 assists on the field. Luke Jatczak had one assist and played well in goal during the second half. Everton did not give up in the second half and really caused some havoc in the backfield with strong outside runs.
Spurs are tied in the points race with their Friday night opponent, PSV. They then travel on Saturday to play against Ajax who holds a 3 point lead over Spurs. Can the scoring continue? See you on the pitch Friday to find out.

FC Porto
3 Liverpool 4
Anfield Stadium
F.C. Porto arrived at Anfield Stadium to take on Liverpool hoping to get back on the winning track. Things looked good for the Dragons as they staked an early 2-0 lead on goals by Laura B. and Maddie with assists to Lauren and Liz. The Reds got one goal back before half to creep back in the game. Liverpool knotted the game at 2 early in the second. Porto battled back to regain the lead on a strike by Ally from Laura B. The Reds soon thereafter tied the game again at 3-3. Both teams battled hard in the final minutes and Liverpool were able to notch the game winner. Time ran out on Porto as they were unable to score again. It was a well fought, back and forth match for both clubs.

Udinese 14 fc porto 0
Stadio Friuli
F.C. Porto did not have an answer for the speed and skill of Italian powerhouse Udinese and came out on the wrong end of a bad beating. Udinese were able to find the back of the net early and often while Porto had too few shots and too porous a defense. According to coach Co "we have a lot of work to do. Our effort is there, and our intentions are good but we must improve our tempo. There is no excuse for our poor showing".

Amazulu United 7 Kaizer Chiefs 5
Ellis Park Stadium, South Africa
Man of the game has to be Keeper "Big" Alex Durbin who stopped many shots while playing for both teams. The young guns could not handle the grumpy old men.
Kaizer Goals: Alex Leatherbury (2), Brendan McNally, Alex Newlin, and Nate Whittle.

Sparta Rotterdam 13 Palermo 0
