Cali opened strong with a 3-0 lead at the half with goals by Brendon "Brendonado" Eglseder, Will "Rapido" Apker, and Jake "Jakeito" Mueller. Today's goalkeepers, Jack "Kobees" Kobes and Luke "Pacmando" Pavel stopped several Forest attacks before the floodgates opened late in the second half. Next week, perennial Argentine powerhouse Boca Juniors travels to Cali. Saturday debuted the new look Fiorentina squad which emerged victorious over Sheffield United. After a sluggish first half that ended in a 0-0 tie Fiorentina exploded in the second half with 7 goals. Logan Gier started the scoring off a Patrick Higginson assist. Then the two exchanged roles as Gier made a great pass up the field finding an open Higginson for the second goal. The scoring was closed out as Daniel McDonald scored an unassisted goal late in the half before the final whistle. Manager Ron Carson said "I was so impressed with my team this morning.
