Week 3 (Nov. 10th)AS Monaco
vs RSC Anderlecht
Monaco made the short trip to Burssels to take on Anderlecht.
Although Monaco had the size and experience advantage,
the Belgians were quick on the ball and anxious to scrap.
Goals were hard to come by and it was a very spirited
match. Liz, Lauren, Mackenzee, Nichole (2) and Hannah
(2) ended up on the tally sheet. One of Hannah's goals
came from a full field rush while playing keeper. Lauren
(2) and Ally B recorded assists. Well played by both sides.
Marseille vs
Revolution
Marseille made their first trip of the year to the US
to take on a feisty Revolution team in the spacious Gillette
Stadium. The French side came out on fire with 5 different
players tallying scores. Laura B. started the scoring,
and Hannah (2), Grace, Nichole and Ally B soon followed.
The second half was much closer as the Revolution team
had seen enough and clamped down defensively. Grace had
two to give her a hat trick for the game, but that was
it. Great assists to Natalie (2) and Nichole (2). The
Revs' next opponent will be in for trouble, as this team
showed they can hang with the big girls.
