Week 3 (Feb. 2nd)Galaxy
vs Kashima Anthlers
Galaxy played a tough Kashima Anthler team and played
hard the whole game, but came up short by 2 goals in the
end. Drew "The Wall" Warnock once again was
excellent in the keeper position. Galaxy moved the ball
a little better with some nice clean passing. Garett Beernick
gave Galaxy fits and forced Galaxy to take some rushed
shots on goal. Braulio Araya did an excellent job as keeper
for the Anthlers.
Galaxy vs
Doncaster
In game 2 Galaxy faced another under 16 girls team, but
this time Galaxy stepped up their game and were less intimidated.
Galaxy played more aggressive which is why perhaps some
of the girls were swearing like sailors. : ) Craig Teply
scored 3 goals in a row to mount a come back, it was to
little to late as Doncaster took advantage of a couple
of silly Galaxy mistakes.
Marseille vs
AS Monaco
Monaco made the short journey to play their "sister"
team Marseille. It turned out to be a game of halves,
as Marseille, comfortable at home dominated the first
half. Although Monaco opened the scoring on a quick strike
by Kiki. But Morgan, Laura, Lauren, Nichole and Alsyssa
found the goal for the home team, while Kirsten scored
one for Monaco. Things changed in the second half with
Monaco able to not only come back, but edge the home team
by a goal. Grace (2), Hannah, Ally, Jordan and Kirsten
tallied for Monaco, while Lauren and Alyssa provided the
scoring for Marseille. It was a well played, fast paced,
hard fought game on both sides.
