Week 4 (Feb. 9th)Marseille
vs Fluminense
It took some time for the visiting Fluminense team to
overcome their jet lag in their match with Marseille.
Feisty Marseille, embracing their motto of "Droit
Au But" ("Straight to the Goal") jumped
to a quick, two goal lead on scores by Alyssa and Natalie.
The Big Flu came to their senses and were able to knot
the score at halftime. The second half was all the Brazilians
as they scored 5 unanswered goals, sending the French
back to the drawing board.
AS Monaco vs
Motherwell
As Monaco hosted the Scottish club Motherwell in a late
night battle. The Red and White jumped to an early lead
as Liz hit a left footer and Jen converted a pass from
Grace. Monaco thought they had the game in control but
Motherwell battle back to knot the score at 2 by halftime.
It was back and forth in the second half as Grace scored
early and Hannah had the game winner after Motherwell
had again tied the game. Grace applied the coup de grace
by burying a setup from Ally B. It was a hard fought,
well played game on both sides.
