Due Date: Monday following weekend's games.
Week 6 (Feb. 25th & 26th) Ibrox Stadium, Scotland
(Press Release by Olympique manager.)
"With the fast pace of the game, it was hard to keep track
of the ball. The action kept going back and forth with great shots
from both sides. Both teams played hard and aggressive. There was
a 1 minute period where we had an injury on both sides, with a ball
to the head. The Ranges had a very good kick-in strategy, as they
were able to loft the ball over our heads. We adjusted after the
2 goals were scored that manner. Arthur and Katie did an excellent
job at keeper.

BayArena, Germany
The German squad of Bayer Leverkusen put its undefeated record on
the line against a powerful Chelsea team. For the 2nd time this
season, Leverkusen went down early by two goals. How did they respond?
They dug deep and brought home the victory. Nathaniel led the way
with 3 goals. Kevin had 1 goal and Chase contributed with 2 assists
followed by Christian’s lone assist. Well done!! Drew and
Quinn held down the net – as they always do. Patrick, Joe,
and Daniel also had great games, as they showed no fear against
the U-11’s. As the team nears an undefeated season the country
is going wild. Tickets for Bayer’s next match have been rumored
to be going for well over 500 euro (sour kraut not included).
La Bombonera, Argentina
Liverpool continued its improvement on Friday
night with every player getting involved offensively and doing much
better at organizing themselves on the field. Boca Juniors, despite
being younger, played with great determination and skill but in
the end- Liverpool's size advantage proved a little too much for
them this season.

El Monumental, Argentina
This game was filled with high intensity. The River Plate team held
and broke a 2-2 tie with two consecutive goals mid-way through the
second half by Mark Wallace and Adam Fleming. The Lazio team was
un-phased coming up with a goal shortly before the end of the game
- spoiling the second half shut-out by the Ryan Miller. Each team
should be proud of their efforts.

Even though he didn’t score or
have any assist in the game Jim “The Hammer” McVay was
the man of the match. McVay has been playing FIFA 2005 on a regular
basis with his children and it’s proven to help his skills.
Andy Staberg preformed a rainbow over two defenders, collected the
ball on his thigh, and ripped a shot just over the goal. Staberg
scored 2 goals in the game while J. Dean collected a hat trick.
M. Dean and P. Potter each scored once for the undefeated team from
England.
They are still rioting in the streets of Barcelona!!

(Real Sporting News)
Last week's game started off a little slower than normal as it took
us until the 17th minute of the first half to break into the scoring
column.
Hat's off to Palermo for resiliency and hard work during the match,
especially the first half. Their tight marking and hard tackling
sure made it difficult for our boys to get much going early on,
but Real's patience and ability to adjust to the game really made
the difference. Real would also like to pass on a congratulations
to our keepers for keeping Palermo off of the score board, IF and
WHEN they were able to break through our spirited defense. Great
Job! Real is on the doorstep of making an impressive run through
the Champions League. However, with only 2 games left the task will
not be an easy one.
Starting with tomorrow's game, Real faces one of two of the better
teams in the Champions League - Old Trafford. Real players will
have to come out ready to play, everywhere on the field. It should
be a match for the ages, as a sellout crowd is expected in one of
the most prestigious playing grounds in all of England.
Good luck to all players playing in tomorrow's match! Keep up the
great play and the positive attitudes - you're very close to the
finish line!
To Amsterdam they traveled, to the land of tulips
and canals, to the fabled Amsterdam Arena. Fresh off the midweek
European Champions League encounter with Man United at Old Trafford,
AC Milan ventured into home of the new Dutch masters. Playing their
first match after the resignation of Dutch legend Ronald Koeman,
would the Nederlander's be ready for the Italian assault. Showing
no signs of fatigue from the midweek encounter, Milan opened their
scoring account through the effervescent Kourtney Frank. Haley Berner
made her own deposit for Milan soon after. Frank was given a second
opportunity which she promptly cashed in. Ajax remained undaunted
capitalized quickly on Milan's loose play with three goals of their
own by halftime. Sandwiched between Ajax goals were scoring efforts
by Lauren Keller and Berner. The big board read Milan 5 and Ajax
3 at the interval. The second half found an inspired Milan side
coming out of the tunnel. Keller inspired by the brilliant display
of Milan's keeper, Katelyn Tschida, scored twice completing her
hat-trick. Megan Weber followed with her first and Berner capped
off the Milan scoring with her third goal.

INTER
MILAN
(Inter Sporting News)
The battle lines were drawn; down in the tunnel the atmosphere was
tense. Porto was home, Estadio do Dragao welcomed their heroes.
No longer in the friendly confines of the San Siro, Inter must venture
into land of the Portistos, amidst a hostile crowd. Porto struck
early, a thunderball delivered by the irrepressible Abby Larson.
Inter appeared unnerved, their confidence shaken. When Porto again
found the back of the Italian net moments later, the scoreboard
read two-nil. Could Inter find their way out of this Portuguese
abyss? With a dash of persistence, an ounce of pressure, and the
icy cool of Abby Jaeger, the victory cocktail was mix. One Jaeger
shot had shaken Milan back to life. Two - one, Porto, but Inter
was breathing with new life. Monica Bosiljevac surged forward from
the back drawing the lone Porto defender to her. With Kourtney Frank
operating on the right flank, Bosiljevac sliced open the Porto defense
with a single telling pass. Frank delivered the clinical finish.
The lights on the scoreboard flashed Porto 2 - Inter 2, it was halftime.
Tiempo two found an inspired Inter squad taking the pitch. Jaeger
persisted, pressured and prevailed. Twice she won the ball deep
in Porto territory, and twice she played the ball past the keeper.
Constant pressure resulted in another Inter kick from the corner.
Just as Ashley Hick turned the subsequent pass into net, Inter had
turned the corner in the match, 5-2 Inter. Kourtney Frank knifed
through twice to score, joining Jaeger's hat trick effort. Bonded
by their defense, Inter had played with their brains and their Braun.
Braun, Jo Jo Braun, who with Bosiljevac steadied a shaken team and
stirred it to life.
(Porto Web Report)
Abby Larson scored two quick goals for Porto, putting them on top
for a large part of the first half. Great goalkeeping by Jessie
Watts kept Porto in this exciting, fast-pased game. The second half
proved to be quite different, with Inter Milan coming back with
force. It was a great game to watch, as both teams exhibited excellent
footskills, speed, and sound soccer. Porto awarded "Man of
the Match" honors to Abby Larson for her precise shooting and
quick defense and also to Kaley Hansen for playing a solid, smart,
and overall strong game on both offense and defense.

Ethan Bennett fired Old Trafford into the 7th week of the
OFL with three blistering strikes in a hard fought 5-4 victory over
their rivals from Germany, VFL Wolfsburg. Bennett, who is fast becoming
Old Trafford’s talisman, struck 3 times with 15 minutes remaining.
From the very first minute, this looked as though it was going to
be a tense and hard fought affair. Wolfsburg showed they would not
be muscled out of it with a couple of meaty challenges, so they
came out and scored early. The score would stay that way until minutes
before the break. Garrett Andrews and Damian Watson combined for
two quick goals. Watson gave Andrews a square pass for the first,
then Andrews returning the favor with a cross to Watson for the
second goal. The match was much more evenly balanced in the second
half as Bennett began to make his impact. #7 expanded the lead to
3-1 before Wolfsburg made their run. The Germans scored three goals
in a seven minute span to take the lead at 4-3. With five minutes
to go and a loss apparently beckoning, Bennett made two breakthrough
runs with the ball and put them in the old onion bag. Old Trafford
plays the undefeated Real Madrid next week, which should be a show
stopper.

Lo Stadio Delle Alpi, Italy
(Juventus Sporting News)
Juventus did not appear to be awake for this early morning game
and suffered a devastating loss to a quick and skillful Borussia
Dortmund. Kelley Bartlett and Anna Calgaard put Juventus on the
board with one goal each. Juventus woke up in the second half, but
it was too late. Although skillful and smart, the team just could
not pull out a win today. "Man of the Match" honors were
shared by Emily Morton and Jaeda Roth for their tenacious defense
and quick counter attacks.

This was a battle between two unbeaten teams in the
Omaha Futsal League on Saturday morning. Waterford United arrived
at the park ready to play and score twice in the first seven minutes
of the game. Highbury fans and coaches were in shock and began booing
their players for their poor performance. Things changed around
the 10th minute of the game and the sun began to shine on the Gunners
from Highbury. Highbury went on to outscore Waterford in the final
30 minutes 8-1 with all 8 goals coming from just three players.
PJ Anderson and Jonathan Koch each notched a hat-trick while Marshall
Anderson added two goals. Mark Ottoson, Tyler Werner, and Jonathan
Koch each spent time minding the nets. Next stop for Highbury is
against PSV Eindhoven from Holland.

Goodison Park, UK
(Chelsea Report)
With Chelsea's Coach and three of its regular players missing
Saturday's match with Everton, underpaid Assistant Coach Tim Cornett
filled in and put together a brilliant game plan that was well-executed.
Both clubs have made steady improvement in this year's campaign
and Saturday's match-up was certainly evidence of that. Chelsea's
Jacob Clatanoff continued his scoring streak and had his first two
goal game of his young career and had an assist as well to Cody
Roach. Cody who always finds his way into almost every game highlight
also provided Chelsea with two goals. Sean Nakamura beautifully
set up Cody (for his second score) with a smartly played ball that
the brash striker read well and finished. With Connor Wilson in
the line up, Everton is always dangerous and Ashton Cornett and
Jefferson Lu (both keepers on loan from Liverpool for this important
match) gave Chelsea the solid defense it needed in the box area.
The Everton boys will get another chance at these two keepers March
11 when Chelsea returns them to Liverpool, along with plenty of
game film for the Liverpool staff to break down.
