With a 12-2 victory against Blackburn
on Friday, Bayer Leverkusen has reached the final game of the Champions
League with 8 wins and no losses. With many players called up to
their Ski and Snowboard National Teams, Christain led the way in
the latest win, scoring 4 goals and having 2 assists to lead Leverkusen
in the victory. Kevin was close behind with 3 goals and 2 assists.
Daniel was the third player of the match to record a hat trick with
his three goals. Stepping up from the defender position, Patrick
also hammered 2 goals home to finish up the night. Quinn put together
another solid night in the goal. Leverkusen has looked in good form
as they are continuing their success of their championship outdoor
season and hope to raise the cup once again after this Saturday’s
game. With one game to play against the mighty Boca Juniors, the
boys must stay focused. “I know McVay’s boys would love
to come in and ruin a perfect run. I thought they out-hustled us
in our first game, so I know they will be ready to play” manager
Dnartso said after the game. Tickets for the finale have broken
several scalping records as prices have been seen in the 1000 euro
range. Bay Arena officials are expecting a record crowd and have
stocked up on mass amounts of wiener schnitzel and sour kraut. Due
to the world wide shortage of mustard, it is recommended that you
bring your own.

Waterford Press -
A hard fought game that the blues felt lucky to win. Battling through
3 injuries in the game the blues were down to only 5 players when
the game was over. Goal scoring by Marshall (2), PJ (1), Zach (1),
and DJ (1). The great work by Thomas, Tim, Brandon, and Hunter proved
to be the difference in the game.

London Times -
Real Madrid's title hopes were effectively delayed as Old Trafford
inflicted the blow with a 7-3 victory in a titanic tussle in Manchester
at The Field of Dreams. Whether Real can catch leaders Bayer Leverkusen,
who still hold a six-point advantage with a game in hand, remains
to be seen. This, after all, may simply have been the silver medal
for the Red Devils. But as Karl Ostrand’s young sensations
sat watching in their hotel, the two old heavyweights slugged it
out at Old Trafford. And when a classic encounter was over, after
ten goals, five bookings and numerous flashpoints, it was Coach
Staberg’s side that were left nursing their wounds. Old Trafford
got off to a fast start by equalizing on the counter-attack to lead
at half-time 4-0. The second half was explosive with three goals
for each side. With a solid performance from Josh Christensen, Mitchell
Ferris made an appearance in the clown’s mouth and wasn’t
himself. Now Coach Dean faces the question, “Is Spiderman
still his #2 goalkeeper.” While the game progressed, time
and again, Ethan Bennett’s jet-propelled heels left the visitors
for dead, as he would hit a hat-trick for a second week in a row.
Garrett Andrew also had a hat-trick, as his jump started the Old
Trafford offense. Andrew's magnificent skills have been one of the
few consistent forms of entertainment for Old Trafford over the
last 6 months and his brilliance earned him a standing ovation when
he left the field midway through the second half. Alex Araya scored
his first goal since joining the Red Devil Army during the transfer
window in January. As if tensions had not been high enough already,
Ryan Lynch and Mitchell Ferris had to be pulled apart after becoming
embroiled in an angry tunnel row even before walking out onto the
pitch. The final whistle was at least marked with a handshake on
the touchline by the two managers. But while Staberg lives to fight
on, Dean’s title chase is now all but over.
Highbury Press -
ATCHISON CUP
Highbury manager James Dean began another psychological battle with
PSV’s Ryan Kruse for Saturday’s Atchison Cup. Having
seen their Omaha Futsal League hopes evaporate into thin air over
the preceding six days, Highbury simply could not afford to allow
their Atchison Cup title campaign to drift away too. Highbury Gunners
hosted a young talented group from PSV Eindhoven lead by mullet-less
Ryan Kruse. Max Hansen-Saferstein had the chance to take the lead
in midfield, no doubt inspired at being given a chance to take on
his countrymen. And he started in fine style, winning possession
and driving forward, scoring the two game winning goals. Marshall
Anderson was otherwise in commanding form with two goals on offense,
even if central defensive colleague Mark Ottoson came close to being
sent off just after the break. PJ Anderson had the first goal of
the match for Highbury with a shot that almost ripped the net. Max
Willis did a fine job minding the net for the Gunners this week.
Now the Gunners will face the pretty boys from Real Madrid in a
showdown that should turn soon into be an instant classic on ESPN
Classic sports network.

This was a game with the best of the best. Both teams
played absolute awesome futsal! Despite the frustration of playing
each other, the teams really put their best foot forward and showed
excellent talent and teamwork. What a great game to watch (unless
you were a parent!) These two teams will meet again and, fortunately,
they will be on the same side of the field - good for us - bad for
our opponents!
